Gov. Brian Kemp Dropping $500k in State Judge Race - to protect his 6 week abortion ban
Fmr Congressman John Barrow spoke to us about Kemp for Vigilantes, Inc - he has the truth about Kemp's 'self made man' story.
Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp (R) and former Congressman John Barrow (D) are facing off against each other again.
The former Democratic Rep. John Barrow, who ran against Brian Kemp’s successor Brad Raffensperger in the 2018 race for Georgia Secretary of State, is running for a State Supreme Court judgeship against Kemp-appointed justice Andrew Pinson.
Barrow has hit the headlines this month for publicly taking a stand on abortion and has made his pro-choice stance a big issue throughout his campaign. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia’s judicial watchdog agency has threatened to discipline Barrow for his pledge to “protect” abortion rights — but Barrow refuses to back down.
Kemp, who in 2019 signed a six-week abortion ban into law and has regularly made stopping women from having reproductive rights a campaign issue, is dumping $500,000 into the supposedly nonpartisan judgeship race, and has released a video supporting his “friend” Pinson which attacks Barrow. Joining Kemp in spending big money on the race are Faith and Freedom Coalition and Frontline Policy Action — both extreme far-right religious organizations that also backed Donald Trump.
Kemp and Barrow both call Athens, GA their home and have a long history of butting heads politically. In our film Vigilantes Inc. we spoke to Barrow about Kemp’s phony “self-made man” story. Barrow knew it wasn’t true — and we have the evidence.
