Check out VisuNews earlier coverage of the #TeslaTakeDown movement as the protests started.
The organizer of the Norfolk #TeslaTakeDown protest, Rebecca Head was slightly disheartened earlier this month last that her first protest only had 15 people show. Not even a month later the movement against Elon Musk has grown nationwide. This time, roughly 50 people brought their homemade protest signs, standing on the thin space between N. Military Highway and the Tesla store expressing their disdain for everything Elon Musk and his DOGE crew.
The progressive grassroots organization Indivisible has helped them promote the event and draw numbers. While there has been regular marches around the Israeli genocide in Palestine, Norfolk and the Hampton Roads area does not have a large protest scene. The last eight weeks have quickly made the people find their voice.
Norfolk and the Hampton Roads area is home to over 200,000 veterans many of whom are also government workers. They all who have a lot to lose from Musk's rabid cuts to government jobs and services. Hampton Roads is also home to Naval Station Norfolk and NATO's headquarters in North America.
